Newcomer Program Consultation

There are many districts nationwide that have students who are new to the United States and have specific needs. Despite this fact, Newcomer programs are fairly new to the U.S. education system. It has been our experience as teachers in public schools and as Newcomers ourselves, that more information is needed at the district and board level. In order to implement an effective Newcomer program, one must understand who Newcomers are and where they are coming from. Most have faced atrocities that are unimaginable. Some have large gaps in their education. Some face homelessness and hunger. School should be a refuge for the students who worked so hard to make it to the United States. Newcomers face more than a language barrier, and require knowledge filled educators and administrators to help them along their path. If you or your district is in need of up to date information and resources on this topic, we are here to help. We care tremendously for Newcomers and it is our passion to help them thrive. We provide consultations of all types, ranging from one-on-one consults for teachers all the way to administrators and directors. We also provide assistance with presentations presented to school boards for funding approval for Newcomer Programs.

An additional service that we provide is custom tailored professional development for all types of faculty and staff. We are passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and we love helping everyone understand more about it. Whether you are looking to recruit and retain a more diverse staff, plan and implement DEI related changes in your company, or simply bring awareness surrounding issues related to equity to those on your team, we can help.
